The Chula Vista Police Foundation received over $239,000 from corporate and individual donations in calendar year 2017. Our partnerships with the community have made the following accomplishments possible:
- 25th annual Awards & Recognition Ceremony honoring 37 recipients
- “Evening with Heroes” fundraising event at U.S. Olympic Training Center
- 7th Annual Shoe and Sock Giveaway, reaching out to 383 local students
- Co-sponsored 2017 Holiday Meal Giveaway providing meals to 1,000 families
- Conducted Citizens Police Academy (27 attendees) & Teen Police Academy (44 attendees), giving the public an inside view of law enforcement
- Acquired Dutch Shepherd K9 (Bob) and funded associated K9 handler training
- Coordinated with CVESD for School Safety Patrol activities
- Purchased fitness equipment for CVPD employee gym
- Supplied goggles to SWAT for tactical operations
- Continued support to the K-9 program, providing dog food for the Dept’s 6th K-9
- Provided protective phone cases during department-wide smartphone deployment
- Funded operating/utility costs for PD Store Front at Otay Ranch Town Center
